Every summer, we prepare to welcome new interns into the office to learn the ebbs and flows — and firehoses — of agency life.
Interns have a special place in our hearts at Epicosity. Within our current team, four of our full-time employees started as interns. We’ve had full-timers and part-timers over the years join the team as a result. Even Chief Digital Officer Chris Kappen, also known as the first intern, built his way up to partner through his internship.
This year, we have three new faces joining our ranks for the summer — Preston Eisenmenger, Tarah Hill and Anna Lockrem. Get to know our 2024 interns!
Preston Eisenmenger
Digital Media Strategy Intern
“During Epicosity’s application process, it was apparent that Epic had a culture and aura that matched my enthusiasm for creativity, hard work and passion,” said Preston. “The levels of success that I saw in them externally motivated me internally.”
Preston has joined us on his summer break from Augustana University, where he will graduate with bachelor’s degrees in English and marketing.
“At Augustana, I worked in two marketing positions: one with the Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams as a game operations intern and the other creating social media content for the school’s Admissions Office,” said Preston, explaining a few of his previous roles.
At Epicosity, Preston works alongside our media and web teams to traffic ads, create and optimize campaigns and more.
“Epicosity has given me an amazing opportunity to experience the many facets of an agency, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it so far,” he explained.
As of now, Preston isn’t set on his next career move and is considering marketing agencies or a career in sports.
“I would love to work in an environment where I can be hands-on in both the creative and data-driven areas of marketing,” said Preston.

- I’m the youngest of five boys in my family.
- I have a small photography business.
- My secret dream career is to be on SNL.
- I play two instruments: the guitar and saxophone.
Tarah Hill
Graphic Design Intern
“I chose Epicosity because I really like the idea of a smaller agency and have enjoyed following their creative campaigns and exciting work environment,” said Tarah.
Like our media intern, Tarah also attended Augustana University for her degree.
“I graduated this year from Augustana University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with an emphasis in graphic design,” she explained.
Before coming to work with Epicosity for the summer, Tarah was previously an intern for Sanford Profile in 2022, expanding her skills to prepare her for her future career.
On our team, Tarah works closely with our senior art director to collaborate on a variety of projects for our clients, including social media, ads and more.
“So far, this internship has allowed me to dive right into collaborating on a variety of client projects and learning all things agency related. This experience aligns with my aspirations of being a designer at an agency,” she said.

- I have two cute dogs who keep me busy – Kylo and Frodo.
- I recently took an amazing trip around Ireland.
Anna Lockrem
Client Services Intern
“The welcoming atmosphere and the supportiveness of the entire team at Epicosity made me eager to join the company,” said Anna.
Prior to joining us, Anna served as editor of her university newspaper, PR and marketing coordinator for the South Dakota State University (SDSU) Program Council, social media influencer for the SDSU International Affairs Office and more.
Before her final year of undergrad at SDSU, where she majors in public relations, Anna is spending the summer learning all there is to know about client services from our account executives.
“Since starting my internship, it has become evident that everyone is committed to my success, both within the company and beyond,” explained Anna.
During office hours, you can find her nurturing client relationships, managing client proofs, working with our internal social media team, preparing meeting agendas and more.
“By the end of my internship, I aim to have a clearer understanding of the career path I wish to pursue after graduation,” said Anna.
